DPS Białystok Baranowicka
Na skraju białostockiego Lasu Bagno, w sąsiedztwie osiedla domków jednorodzinnych, w cichej i spokojnej okolicy, położony jest Dom Pomocy Społecznej Białystok ulica Baranowicka 203, przeznaczony dla 306 osób niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie i przewlekle chorych psychicznie. W placówce zamieszkuje 102 – niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie dzieci i młodzieży, 168 – niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie dorosłych i 36 – przewlekle psychicznie chorych. Dodatkowo świadczone są usługi dziennej opieki dla 20 osób z chorobą Alzheimera. Baza mieszkaniowa to w większości przytulne i funkcjonalne pokoje dwuosobowe. Budynki i najbliższe otoczenie Domu pozbawione są barier architektonicznych. Mieszkańcy mają do dyspozycji liczne pomieszczenia wspólne, a także bogato wyposażone zaplecze rehabilitacyjne oraz terapeutyczne, ogromnym atutem Domu jest posiadanie własnej pływalni, przystosowanej także dla osób niepełnosprawnych.
DPS zapewnia całodobową opiekę, pomoc medyczną, zajęcia rehabilitacyjne oraz terapeutyczne. Mieszkańcy Domu podzieleni są na grupy tematyczne – m.in. żywego słowa, muzyczna, plastyczna, stolarsko-rzeźbiarska, komputerowa, zabawkarska, papieroplastyki, haftu, gospodarstwa domowego, florystyki… Grupy współpracują, razem jedzą, uczestniczą w zajęciach. Dzieci i młodzieź zamieszkujące Dom mają możliwość uczestniczenia w zajęciach edukacyjnych w Zespole Szkół Nr 12 – budynki szkoły znajdują się na terenie DPS. Czas wolny wypełniają liczne imprezy, spotkania, udział w ważnych wydarzeniach, wyjścia, spacery oraz wyjazdy – DPS posiada trzy samochody przystosowane do przewozu osób niepełnosprawnych, w tym jeden dla osób poruszających się na wózkach inwalidzkich. Warto dodać, że w tym roku placówka obchodzi 50-lecie swojej działalności, dla niektórych mieszkańców jest to również okrągła 50-letnia rocznica przebywania w tym DPS, bez wątpienia miejsce to stało się ich pierwszym domem 🙂 Po więcej szczegółów odsyłam na stronę internetową DPS, link poniżej.
